The year we took part in your Latke Vodka Babka Kafka Tchotchke was the best holiday celebration I ever had :) I wonder if I can export the tradition to Bordeaux, where we now live. Maybe if I make it "Foie Gras Bordeaux Zola" or something like that? Doesn't have quite the same ring to it, though, doesn't it?... Happy holidays!

great to hear. and LOVE that idea. yes, the idea should spread (ahem, no pun intended with foie gras), and of course be adapted to local conditions... happy holy daze back to you.

"...plus a sacrilege or two" LOL Thanks for another year of your gallows humour (pardon my Canadian spelling) and all the work you do. Have a wonderful "eclectic mashup" of a gathering with your chosen family!

Such a delight. And inspiring. And i'm inspired to revisit my much-more-anemic traditions and do some creative recrafting, reclaiming, remembering. YOur work has inspired me for voer 25 years when i learned of your Activists Cookbook which we took into our popular educatoin work at the Catalyst Centre (a toronto-based popular education group that thrived for a decade before becoming one for the history books). I've followed your work ever since and it still finds much application in all that i do. Now i wanna make latke's and find some good vodka! And our house is already a museum of tchotchke's and always growing. So great to read your occasional pieces here. Much love for this season of revels to you and all yours.

Hey Chris, wow the Activist Cookbook brings me back. Thanks for much for sticking around for my existential angst and for leaving this comment. Means a lot! Happiest of holidays to you.
